At the same time, <strong>conservatives have consistently opposed these advancements,<\/strong> resisting change, protecting entrenched power, and, in many cases, trying to roll back progress.<\/p>\n<p>Today, as we see renewed conservative attacks on basic freedoms\u2014from abortion rights to voting access\u2014it\u2019s crucial to remember that <strong>none of our rights were ever given freely.<\/strong> They were fought for, often at great personal risk. Gun Control (20th Century\u2013Present)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>\u2705 <strong>Won by:<\/strong> Public safety advocates secured measures like the Brady Bill (1993), requiring background checks for gun purchases. \u274c <strong>Opposed by:<\/strong> Conservatives and the NRA, who fight against every form of gun control, despite the rise of mass shootings in America.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Why Conservatives Keep Fighting Against Progress<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If history has proven anything, it&#8217;s that conservatives don\u2019t simply oppose change\u2014they actively try to reverse progress once it has been made. The recent <strong>repeal of Roe v. Wade<\/strong>, conservative <strong>attacks on LGBTQ+ rights<\/strong>, and <strong>voter suppression efforts<\/strong> are clear signs that the fight is far from over.<\/p>\n<p>Conservatives justify their actions through appeals to tradition, religious dogma, and corporate interests, using fear-mongering and misinformation to convince the public that progress is dangerous. But time and again, history has proven them wrong.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Fight Continues\u2014And It\u2019s Up to Us<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>None of these rights were <strong>given<\/strong> to us. They were <strong>won<\/strong> through protest, activism, and political engagement. And as long as conservatives keep trying to take them away, we must fight back. That means:<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udce2 <strong>Speaking out<\/strong> against injustice.<br \/>\n\ud83d\uddf3 <strong>Voting<\/strong> in every election, especially at the state level where rights are under attack.<br \/>\n\ud83e\udd1d <strong>Supporting organizations<\/strong> that defend civil rights, labor rights, and social justice.<br \/>\n\ud83d\udca1 <strong>Educating others<\/strong> on the history of progress\u2014and the threats we still face.<\/p>\n<p>History isn\u2019t just something we read about\u2014it\u2019s something we <strong>shape<\/strong> every single day.
