From Isolation to Action: The App That Connects the Dots
My name’s Matt, and I want to tell you a story—not just about an app, but about a movement. A way out. A way forward. Something we build together.
I’m a lifelong conservative. Or at least, I used to be. I grew up with values that meant something to me: personal responsibility, service to community, country over self. But somewhere along the way, those values were hijacked—distorted into something unrecognizable.
Like many of you, I watched the rise of Donald Trump and the authoritarian movement that followed. I hoped someone would stop it. That the courts would hold the line. That Congress would do its job. That the media would wake people up. But the truth hit me hard and fast: nobody is coming to save us.
And that’s when everything changed.
I realized the systems we once trusted—our institutions, our political parties, our media, our churches—had all failed us in some way. They’re not equipped to fight the kind of cultural war we’re in now. They’re still playing by the old rules while the other side tears up the rulebook and sets the field on fire.
So I started over. I radicalized in the direction of justice, truth, and community. I picked up my phone, hit record, and started telling the truth on TikTok. I’ve only been at it for about a year, but the response has been overwhelming.
One message kept popping up over and over again:
“What can I do?”
People want to fight back. They want to help. They want to believe in something. But they don’t know where to start. Legacy organizations give them a donation link and an email petition. The Democratic Party tells them to vote. But that’s not enough anymore. That’s not a plan. That’s not a movement.
So we’re building one.
The “Connect the Dots” Campaign
The backbone of everything I’ve done so far is a simple idea: Connect the Dots.
I live in rural Texas. I’ve met a lot of people who feel alone out here—isolated, hopeless, and tired of being surrounded by a culture that doesn’t reflect their values. People assume rural America is a MAGA stronghold, but that’s not true. The right isn’t a majority out here—they’re just louder. They built a culture war and declared victory because no one showed up to say otherwise.
We are showing up now.
The Connect the Dots campaign is about showing people they are not alone. That they’re part of something bigger. That they are not in the minority. That their voice matters. We use a simple blue dot—on a hat, a shirt, a bumper sticker—as a signal. A flare in the dark. A message that says, “I’m with you.”
But now it’s time to go further.
Why We’re Building an App
We’re taking the next step. We’re turning the Connect the Dots campaign into a fully functional mobile and web platform built for the world we live in now.
This app is a direct answer to that burning question:
“What can I do?”
It’s a place to find and create real opportunities for civic engagement. Not just protests at the Capitol. Not just petitions. But events that meet people where they are—at parades, farmer’s markets, school board meetings, town festivals, or even just a coffee shop where folks can gather and talk truth.
Here’s what the app will do:
1. Connect People
You’ll be able to see other blue dots in your area. You’ll know you’re not the only one. You’ll find others who want to take action. You’ll finally stop feeling like a voice in the wilderness.
2. Collect Opportunities
The app will help users collect information about upcoming local events where visibility, presence, or participation could make an impact. It could be a booth at market days, a banner on a float, or just showing up at a town hall with a message.
3. Turn Those Into Action
Opportunities can be turned into events. Want to organize a float? We’ll give you the tools—templates for signs, instructions for permits, best practices, ways to recruit volunteers. No need to reinvent the wheel every time. You’ll have the support you need to make it happen.
4. Measure & Share Impact
Each event will collect basic metrics—attendance, impact, media coverage, lessons learned. That data will be anonymized and federated back to the community, giving everyone a clearer picture of what works and where energy is building.
5. Fund the Movement
We’re building a donation engine that feels familiar to anyone who’s used TikTok or YouTube. Like tipping your favorite creator? Now you can support real-world activism with the same ease. Whether it’s $1 or $100, you’ll know it’s going directly to people taking action on the ground.
A New Kind of Social Platform
We’re not just building an app. We’re redefining activism.
Social media right now is built to optimize for likes, views, and dopamine. We’re flipping that on its head. Our question is not “How can I get more engagement?” but “How can I spark real change?”
The platform will be built on the AT Protocol—the same decentralized system used by Bluesky—so that this movement can’t be controlled, shut down, or manipulated by big tech. This is about digital freedom and civic power, not corporate control.
And we’re not building this to make money. We’re building this because the hour is late. Because democracy is hanging by a thread. Because we don’t have time to wait for permission.
Why Me? Why Now?
I’m a regular guy. I live in the country. I drive a truck. I build hot rods. But I’ve also served—military, law enforcement, federal government. And I’ve spent the last decade in tech. I know how to build this. And I’m committed to doing it, even if I have to sling every line of code myself.
But here’s the truth: I don’t want to do it alone.
With your help, we can build this faster, stronger, and smarter. We can hire a team. We can get the infrastructure in place. We can launch not just an app—but a movement.
We’ve already laid the foundation. Now it’s time to build the house.
What You Can Do
-
Back the Kickstarter – Every dollar counts. Whether it’s $5 or $500, you’re helping us build the tools that people on the ground desperately need.
-
Share the Campaign – Spread the word. Post the video. Tell your friends. Drop a blue dot in the comments.
-
Reach Out – Want to partner? Have skills to offer? Want to volunteer when the app launches? Hit me up directly.
Final Thought
This app isn’t going to save the world. But it will help us save each other. One dot at a time.
Because when enough people connect, something powerful happens.
We build a net. And that net can catch the fall of a nation.
Thanks for being here. Thanks for believing in something better.
Let’s build this together.
— Matt
