Trump wins West Virginia
Former President Trump is projected to win West Virginia, according to Decision Desk HQ.
The Republican presidential nominee easily carried the Mountain State and will pick up its four Electoral College votes.
The win in Trump’s column comes as no surprise. The Hill and Decision Desk HQ’s model had given Trump more than a 99 percent chance of winning.
In 2016, he won West Virginia with 68.6 percent of the vote, his largest share in any state that year. He then won again in 2020 by a whopping 39 percent margin.
West Virginia voters are also choosing their next senator after Sen. Joe Manchin (I) opted not to run for reelection, with Gov. Jim Justice (R) widely expected to prevail in that race.
