You think if you were alive during history’s worst atrocities, you’d be the hero? That you’d stand up, fight back, speak out? That you’d never be one of the silent, the complicit, the cowards?

Look in the mirror. Look at your likes, your shares, your silence.

History’s greatest evils didn’t start with war, genocide, or death camps. They started with small, harmless things—jokes, stereotypes, justifications. The kind of things you scroll past every day. The kind of things you share every day.

👉 When you mock immigrants, you are no different than those who justified slavery.
👉 When you share a joke about trans people, you are no different than those who made fun of Jews before they were marched to the gas chambers.
👉 When you nod along to racist “crime statistics,” you are no different than the white mobs that lynched Black men and laughed about it.
👉 When you stay silent while your friends, family, or politicians spew hate, YOU ARE NO DIFFERENT than those who stood by and watched history’s worst crimes unfold.

Do you think the people who cheered at lynchings thought they were villains? Do you think the Nazi soldiers who followed orders saw themselves as monsters? Do you think the men who burned crosses thought they were doing anything wrong?

No. They thought they were right. Just like YOU do.

The truth is, you are participating in the same system of hate that led to mass graves, war, and genocide.

And don’t say “it’s just a joke.” Behind every joke, there is a bullet. A rope. A law. A gas chamber.

This isn’t history. This is NOW. Hate crimes are rising. Book bans are spreading. Politicians are openly calling for mass deportations, criminalizing identities, and encouraging violence. This is how it starts. This is how it always starts.

If you don’t SPEAK UP now, you are no different from those who stood silent while their neighbors were dragged away. If you don’t FIGHT BACK, you are the coward who stood on the sidelines, afraid to make waves. If you stay neutral, history will remember you as one of them.

There is no in-between. You are either fighting racism, or you are feeding it.

Every time you let it slide. Every time you “like” a racist meme. Every time you pretend it’s not your problem. IT COUNTS.

And history WILL judge you.
